Tiernan McKay is a freelance writer based in the Rocky Mountain foothills of Colorado. A homeschooling mother of three, she spends a lot of time with her kids (a lot!) but still manages to put full sentences together on a daily basis. Growing up, she lived in six different states, which taught her a huge appreciation for writing letters (yes, the real kind – with pen and paper) and being the first person to offer a smile to the “new girl.” She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in English from Northern Arizona University. A lover of all things literary, equine, culinary and historical, she and her husband also love to explore the Colorado mountains with their three kids. Tiernan believes that parenting is life's ultimate mirror. Sometimes she likes what she sees. Other times, it's clear there's much more work to be done. Either way, she's blessed. Oh, and don’t ever ask her to watch your potted plants or water your flowers while you’re on vacation, unless you definitely want them to die.
