Tired of the same old Christmas decorations? Take some inspiration from these trees that use unique trimmings and color schemes and spice up your own tree!

Unique trees- Rainbow tree

Wow with color

Color is in this season! Martha Smith from Open Door Studio created a retro and fun Chromatic Christmas Tree, often referred to as her "Rainbow Tree." Featured on Apartment Therapy, the tree's vivid ornaments really pop out of the white backdrop. The rainbow spectrum arrangement cascades beautifully down the tree, but feel free to place your ornaments as desired! You can also play with monochromatic color schemes, using various shades of one color for a different twist on this colorful tree.

UNique Christmas trees- Black tree

Keep it classy

There's nothing that says you have to stick to the traditional red and green color scheme. In a gutsy wave of inspiration, Coco+Kelley's Cassandra Lavalle decked her halls with a black tree trimmed with white and metallic ornaments, garlands and ribbon. The tree is posh, but the lush decorations still give it a cozy feel. If you're going for a unique tree theme or color scheme, Cassandra advises "go big or go home!"

Unique Christmas trees- bare branch

Go bare

Looking for something a little more minimalist? Less is more with this Christmas tree branch from Steph Bond-Hutkin of Bondville. Each year Steph and her daughters search not for the perfect tree, but for the perfect fallen branch to take home and decorate. The ornaments take center stage on this beautiful, yet simple tree.

Unique trees- Texas tree

Theme it up

Theme trees can be a fun family activity, as Jamie Dorobek from Creating Really Awesome Free Things learned. She and her family put together a Texas-themed Christmas tree that gets embellished a little more each year. It's no secret that we Texans are proud of our state. If you're picking a theme, make sure it's one that means a lot to you and your family, as there will be a lot of it!

Unique trees- Family tree

In the family

Also from C.R.A.F.T., Jamie went after another theme with this family Christmas tree. DIY photo ornaments paired with traditional decorations create a warm, unique tree with a personal touch. And the fun comes as more and more ornaments get added as your family grows!
