It's time to think of creative Mother's Day gift ideas! This milk bath recipe is lovely and luxurious, and it's easier than you might think to make your own bath products. Make one for yourself and some for your mom friends that could use a little pampering, too!

What every mom needs — besides a nap and some chocolate — is a little bit of pampering. And this DIY milk bath recipe fits the bill. With only three ingredients, it's simple to make and the result is nothing short of luxurious. Silky, rich and fragrant, this homemade bath product screams relax. Indulge in some quiet time for yourself this Mother's Day — you deserve it — and then make some for a favorite mom friend — she deserves it, too!

Homemade milk bath ingredients

What you'll need

  • 3 cups powdered milk
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 30 drops essential oil (we love vanilla, lavender and citrus scents) (Michael's, $3)
  • 2 pretty containers like Mason jars

What you'll do

  1. Combine the powdered milk and the cornstarch in a medium-sized bowl. (A whisk works well for this.)
  2. Still stirring, drop the oil into the mixture, placing each drop in its own space to avoid clumping.
  3. Once your milk bath is smooth, move it into 2 dry containers. (A kitchen funnel works well for this.)
  4. When you're ready to use your milk bath, pour a little at a time into warm, running water. Add as much as you'd like and finally... relax!

One more thought^ The recipe above makes enough to fill two containers of milk bath. Consider keeping one for yourself and gifting one to a mom you love who could also use a little pampering!
