I'll be the first to admit I admire Kim Kardashian for getting into the gym and shedding her baby weight with a strict diet and exercise program after welcoming her first child. Yes, she should be proud of herself and her new body... But aren't the booty selfies getting a little old?

Kim's "middle finger to the world"

This is my big, like, middle finger to the world on everyone that called me fat.

When Kim Kardashian posted her infamous white bikini booty shot (her first booty selfie since welcoming daughter North West with fiancé Kanye in June) on Instagram back in October, I was all like, "more power to ya, girl!" — especially after she went public about why she posted the pic. She told Jay Leno, "This is my big, like, middle finger to the world on everyone that called me fat."

Granted, Kim did take a public bashing by the media who constantly compared the curvaceous pregnant reality star to rail thin expectant mom Kate Middleton, who welcomed her baby over the summer as well. And she told Jay that losing the 50-something pounds she gained during pregnancy was the "hardest challenge of my life." Kim attributed the Atkins diet and busting said booty in the gym for reclaiming her figure.

Moving on

So Kim should be able to move on and forget about the mean media backlash. After all, perhaps in her mind, she showed them. She lost the weight, she got her famous rear-end back. So there. The end. Right? Not so much. It seems Kim is a little obsessed with the booty selfie.

The booty selfies... and the backlash rage on

When Kim posted yet another booty selfie with her friend Blac Chyna captioned, “Getting right for the new year," on Instagram, the public cried Photoshop, claiming the reality star manipulated the photo. Kim fired back via Twitter, writing, "It sucks when people make up surgery or Photoshop lies when I am so disciplined & work so hard! Just trying to motivate others & show anyone struggling with weight they can totally achieve whatever they want if they are dedicated!"

Is that really what she is trying to do? Motivate others to achieve their goals? I hope that's her intent, as the booty selfies continue to stream in, but her constant posts are starting to reek of insecurity and need for attention. For the record, I think Kim looks great, Photoshop or not. But I do think that the best thing she could do to silence the haters is simply go about her life and not open the door for people to criticize.

Can't we just relish the early days with our new babies without feeling inadequate if we stay a tad fluffier than usual in postpartum life?

I think Kim probably fell victim to the pressure that many new moms in Hollywood or not fall victim to and that truly does "suck" (in the words of Kim K. herself). I wish that new moms and women in general (myself included!) didn't feel the need to have to drop the baby weight ASAP as if it never existed. Can't we just relish the early days with our new babies without feeling inadequate if we stay a tad fluffier than usual in postpartum life?
