Does anyone even wear real denim anymore? It seems that colored jeans are the hottest way to sport pants right now and with every color in the rainbow available, it's an easy way to add some fun to your wardrobe. While we're pretty sure that neon yellow jeans won't become a staple in our closet for years to come, it seems that going budget on this trend is the way to go... right?

Wilfred Free Aroha pant

One of the hottest new brands in town, Artizia has recently moved stateside from Canada. They are now making their online presence known too... and these pants are surely helping! Adding to the rainbow of colored pants that are already in your closet? These are going to complete your collection. Dipping your toe into this trend? This is probably more like jumping in the deep-end of the pool. With a worn-in feel that will make you look like you've had these beauties since neon was last a trend (um, in the '90s?), and a slim fit that is easy to dress down, as shown, or dressed up with a pair of smoking hot heels, you're going to get a lot of use out of this one pair of pants.

Mossimo supply company colored denim

At just over $20 a pair, you're going to be tempted to pick up a few pairs to wear this spring! Besides their bold color, we think these pants are a hit for their length. On most moms, they will land just at the top of your ankle, which, as the smallest part of your leg, makes you look instantly lean. They can also easily be cuffed or rolled up a few times for a fun, playful look, if the neon color wasn't playful enough for you! Pay attention to that five percent Spandex — it will be a lifesaver in keeping these pants fitting well, rather than getting baggy, after a few hours of wear.

The verdict

While bright colored pants are the new black today, it's likely that they'll be a fashion no in the blink of an eye. For this version of splurge or steal, we're going to have to give it to the steal! Don't break the bank investing in a pair of neon yellow pants that you'll be cringing at a few months from now when everyone else is back to wearing the real black again. And, while you can wear these pants with practically anything in your closet (they're neon... everything goes with neon because nothing goes with neon!), you can't wear them every day, like some of your other pants, because they tend to stand out in the crowd a bit more than a regular denim.

Grab a pair that is inexpensive, but still fits well and holds their shape as you're doing your mom thing throughout the day — you can always tuck them in the back of your closet when they're played out. They'll surely become a trend again sooner or later!
