Move away from the classic mimosa and try a new sparkling wine cocktail! Start off happy hour right with a classic, yet new to you Champagne cocktail. Not only are these classic sparkling wine cocktails delicious, they also have fun names that will liven up your happy hour!

The French 75 was created in 1915 at the New York Bar in Paris by barman Harry MacElhone. The combination was said to have such a kick that it felt like being shelled with the powerful French 75mm field gun, also called a 75 Cocktail, or Soixante Quinze in French.

Serves 1


  • 1-1/2 ounces gin
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 3-4 ounces Champagne


  1. Place the gin and martini shaker in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  2. Fill your martini shaker with ice.
  3. Add the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup to the shaker and shake vigorously until well combined.
  4. Pour into your chilled glass and fill Champagne to the top of the flute.
  5. Garnish with a twist of lemon. Enjoy!
