Parenting is filled with challenges, from getting your kids to eat their veggies to removing gum from your daughter's hair. Wouldn't it be amazing if there was a martini for every parenting feat? Well, there is! The Big Book of Martinis for Moms lays out common situations and offers up a delicious martini recipe for every single one.

Rose Maura Lorre of and Mavis Lamb think it's time that moms had their own happy hour, so they wrote The Big Book of Martinis for Moms. Flip through, find your parenting feat and shake up a fabulous cocktail to celebrate.

Lorre and Lamb shared these excerpts and cocktails straight out of their book, so if you enjoy, pick up a copy and read them all. The stories are great, the recipes amazing and the photos mouthwatering.

I've got the bake sale booze

The Feat^Ran the class bake sale

Snickerdoodle Martini

In case you've never before been asked to manage a class bake sale (or scout troop bake sale, orchestra bake sale, etc.), here's a handy checklist of what bounties your bake sale table should hold: dairy-free, vegan, steel cut oatmeal, organic raisin cookies? Check. Fair-trade, antioxidant-rich, dark chocolate, nut-free brownies? Check. Cupcakes? Check... Yeah, just stick with cupcakes. Nobody ever objects to cupcakes.

Another thing to remember is there's a goal at the end of this sweet-fest. You're raising money for a program that your child is involved with, so put your heart into it! You will, of course, but in case any other moms forget, you can remind them. And your best friend for organizing this thing is not your best friend, it's a clipboard with a spreadsheet of who is baking what and who is manning the table when. Get everything in writing and you're good to go. Also good to go is the final bake sale item: the Snickerdoodle Martini. OK it's not for sale, but a definite “Check.” Enjoy as soon as you get home.
