Halloween ghost cake pops

Makes 40-45 balls

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Prepare cake batter.
  2. Pour cake batter into a cake pop pan and bake according to pan directions.
  3. Remove pops from the oven and transfer the pan to a wire rack.
  4. Allow pops to cool for 5 minutes before removing from the pan.
  5. Transfer cake balls to the wire rack and use scissors to trim the seams from the cake balls.
  6. Refrigerate the cake balls for 45 minutes to an hour.
  7. Sprinkle your work surface with confectioners' sugar.
  8. Roll out fondant until it's almost paper thin.
  9. Using a glass or cookie cutter, cut circles that measure roughly 3-1/2 inches in diameter.
  10. Cut small holes in the center of each circle to allow for easy draping over the cake pop.
  11. Melt the candy melts completely according to package directions.
  12. Once thoroughly melted, dip the pop sticks into the chocolate and then push into the cake balls.
  13. Dip each cake ball into the candy melts to coat, allowing excess to drip off. (Appearance doesn't matter here, since you'll be covering the candy melts with fondant.)
  14. Place each cake pop on a serving tray (it should stand up on its own because of the candy melts) and slide one fondant circle down over the cake pop.
  15. Smooth fondant, creating a ghost-like form.
  16. Repeat with remaining cake pops.
  17. Reheat candy melts.
  18. Dab a tiny bit of the warm candy melts onto the back of a candy eye and place on the cake pop.
  19. Repeat this process until all cake pops have 2 adorable eyes.
  20. Serve!

Tip^ Store cake pops in an airtight container or wrap well in plastic wrap if not serving immediately, as fondant dries out quickly.
